My Favorites: A Walk Along the Beach in Mexico

I realize this is incredibly cliche, but this walk along the beach remains one of my favorite memories from our first trip to Mexico. We had an early afternoon flight to catch and I, of course, wanted to make the most of the last day of vacation. Somehow I convinced Clay that we should get up in time to enjoy the sunrise from the beach. We walked to a part of the beach we had not yet been to. It was more rocky than other parts of the beach and as a result there were numerous tidepools to explore, full of starfish and other sea creatures. We were alone on the beach, which was silent except for the sound of the waves. We took off our shoes, enjoying the slow warmth of the rising sun and the cool sand between our toes as the waves lapped at our feet. It was such a peaceful moment, so I took in a deep breath of the salty air hoping to hold on to the quiet joy of a perfect morning.
